Several streets — including all Northbound traffic on Amsterdam from 65th to 72nd Street — remained closed on Friday morning after a major underground fire near 71st Street and Broadway.

As of 9 a.m. train service was working normally in the area.

Hundreds of local residents lost power. As of 9 a.m. on Friday, 646 local residents were still without power, according to a Con Ed outage map. Con Ed estimated that they’d have power back by 11 a.m.

Update: As of 11:45 a.m., 186 residents were still out of power. ConEd has revised their previous estimates to 3 p.m.
