ASSESSING THE DAMAGE: STORM DESTROYED 20 TREES IN CENTRAL PARK AND MORE ELSEWHERE

A section of Central Park near 81st Street was taped off after a tree came down. Photo by Ethan Finneran.

Monday’s brief but ferocious thunderstorm tore through the neighborhood, bringing down trees and sections of buildings. In Central Park, the tally was substantial: the storm damaged 20 trees, which were removed immediately or will be taken away soon, according to the Central Park Conservancy. The damage occurred throughout a relatively large area between 72nd and 102nd Streets.

Trees in other parks also sustained severe damage, including the one below in Theodore Roosevelt Park next to the Museum of Natural History.

Photo by Carol Tannenhauser. The woman in the photo said “It’s so sad. It’s like losing part of your neighborhood.”

Here’s a dramatic photo of the storm as it approached.

is that one of the trees that the expansion of the Museum of Natural History would’ve taken down anyway? if so, one less tree they’d have to remove…..

No, no, NO!

It was NOT just a storm.

The entire episode was carefully engineered by the AMNH. as a nefarious plot to take over the PRECIOUS PARK.

It is all part of the Evil AMNH’s secret plans tnat “The Committee To Show Off By Stopping the Proposed Gilder Center” constantly warns us about.
