Luke Beemer, an employee at popular Southern-style restaurant Jacob’s Pickles, was hit by a box truck after leaving work early Tuesday morning and has multiple severe injuries, according to a GoFundMe page his family and friends set up to raise money for his care.
Beemer and another Jacob’s employee were leaving work after 4 a.m. when they were hit, according to NBC. The truck drove off without waiting for police to arrive.
The fundraising page says Beemer was dragged by the truck and his chest was crushed. He will undergo three surgeries. They’re looking to raise $50,000 and had taken in about $17,000 as of Wednesday morning.
