Coffee, chocolate, juice and other good things are on their way, as a vegetarian take-out spot closes. Check out the details below.

2Beans, a coffee and chocolate shop, is opening at 82nd street and Amsterdam Avenue, in the former home of Organic Avenue. 2Beans is also opening in Turnstyle, the underground mall and food court at Columbus Circle, which opens April 19. Thanks to Kevin for the photo.

Blossom du Jour on 67th street and Amsterdam Avenue has closed. A new Blossom du Jour will be opening in Turnstyle, although it may not open immediately when Turnstyle opens. Thanks to JT Yost for the tip.

juicery

A new Pressed Juicery just opened on 111th and Broadway in the former home of Maoz. Thanks to R. Schmunk for the photo.

A new Wells Fargo is opening on 89th street and Broadway. “It’s the corner with the HSBC, which evidently gave up part of its space because there are not enough banks on the US.  That was nice of them,” wrote Rachel.

Kirsh Bakery on Amsterdam between 86th and 87th street is up and running and we’re hearing some good early reviews. Elana got “iced Americano and this mini bunds muffin with chocolate drizzle, both delicious!” Terry Frishman enjoyed the “hot chocolate made with Valrhonna dark chocolate, white chocolate, cocoa powder, milk and a touch of salt.” Terry says they’re oping to open Kirsh Kitchen, the 24-hour restaurant that’s connected to the bakery, at the end of next week.

Does anyone know what is going in on Columbus between 87th and 88th where the deli used to be?

Yes, I tried a hazelnut & dark chocolate croissant from Kirsh and it was worth the $4 — totally delicious: it could compete with a fine French bakery’s offerings.

FYI that Pressed is doing a couple of promotions right now if you sign up for their free rewards program. $2 for a single juice or $29 (I think…) for 5 juices. Through the 28th.

Wait, let me get that right: Two dollars for one, or 29 dollars for five??

Quick, somebody hand me a smartphone so I can pull up the calculator app so I can figure out which one of those options is better….

TurnStyle is the soon-to-be-open (April 19) food and shopping area at the Columbus Circle subway. https://www.turn-style.com/

Too bad another overpriced eatery.
Yes costs have gone up but this price needs to be on the east side.

This *is* the East Side, now. It’s just west of the original East Side.

IS the bakery Kosher? Will it be open during Passover?

Sigh. Too bad. I liked Blossom du Jour.

If they can’t make it at 67/Amsterdam, I wonder how much better they’ll do underground at the Columbus Circle subway?

In fairness, the next closest Wells Fargo is on Broadway and 85th, so this could save four blocks of arduous walking for some people.

Did you know that banks are actually pressed by regulators to open branches? I think we should write to the regulators and tell them we don’t want them.

About that $4.50 “Savory Danish” in an above photo:

Would that be brought to your table by the star of that recent film, “The Danish Girl” ?
