Something called B Cafe could open in this former supermarket at 90th and Amsterdam.
The latest liquor license applications have been submitted to the community board and they offer a first glimpse of possible restaurants coming to the neighborhood.
A spot called Guyers is hoping to open at 73rd and Columbus in the former home of Wine and Roses. And new restaurants and/or bars are seeking liquor licenses for spaces on Amsterdam and 67th, Amsterdam and 80th, and Columbus between 82nd and 83rd.
In addition, the former home of Key Fresh & Natural (and Saigon Grill before that) on 90th and Amsterdam could become B Cafe West, according to a license application. B Cafe West is a Belgian restaurant on Amsterdam between 87th and 88th. An employee there said the owner is opening a new eatery on 90th street, but wasn’t sure if it was an expansion, or if they will be moving.
Check out all the new liquor license applications and sidewalk cafe applications below. They’ll be discussed at a hearing on April 13 at 7 p.m. on the second floor of 250 West 87th street.

Inquiring on a similar topic (UWS restaurants), does anyone know why Al Dente (at the SE corner of Amsterdam Ave), closed?
Re: “why Al Dente … closed?”
Ummm…possibly b/c people thought it was a branch of ISIS responsible for stealing cars and driving them so badly that they had numerous fender-benders?!?
:-0
Scooter Stan! You’re back! And punnier than ever!
Thank you, thank you!
Of course, yours IS a minority opinion!
Most people think “HE’s a stand-up comedian? Better he should sit down!
Likely because nobody was ever in there
Isn’t B Cafe the Belgian restaurant on the same block as Mermaid Inn? It’s quite good, but very small and I wouldn’t be surprised if they wanted more space.
They have a significantly larger space on the UES, so I would not be surprised if that is the goal. However, that Key Food space is huge! I wonder how much they can really support.
