SEARCHING FOR DE NIRO AT A FILM SHOOT ON 98TH STREET

The building on 98th street where Robert De Niro was filming on Thursday night.

Drew Palazzo walked by a film shoot featuring Robert De Niro on Thursday night, but he didn’t get to give the legendary actor his best “You talkin’ to me?” impression.

“Ton of production trucks/crew/equipment centered around an apartment on 98th Street today (between Broadway and Amsterdam). They were there all day and started packing up at around midnight. I talked to some of the crew and found out that they were shooting a scene for The Comedian, an upcoming film starring Robert De Niro and Leslie Mann.

The crew told me Bobby himself was in the apartment but, unfortunately, I couldn’t catch a glimpse of the man himself. They told me they believed he’d be wrapping at 10:30pm so I walked by around then, but no luck!”

De Niro’s apartment on the Upper West Side was damaged in a fire a few years ago. Last we heard he had bought a place in the West Village.

The building in the photograph is The Gramont. It has been used for a number of television shows and feature films. The entrance and lobby are outstanding.

This building was also used in the film version of Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. I get such a kick out of it; I live just two blocks away!
