The Douglass Houses, a housing project between 100th and 104th street.

The unusual flight jacket worn by an assailant in four gunpoint robberies at the Frederick Douglass Houses between January 5th and 23rd led to the arrest of Tarrell Webster, 21, of 55 West 100th Street in Manhattan, police said.
Surveillance photos captured images of the back of a jacket that became the subject of investigation and discussion among officers in the anti-crime unit and detectives of the 24th Precinct. Commanding Officer, Deputy Inspector Marlon Larin, told the 24th Precinct Community Council the jacket had a circle with four different logos.
Mr. Webster was arrested for possession of an open container of alcohol on January 29th at 9:40 pm at 860 Columbus Avenue. Arresting officers noticed the jacket and upon further investigation, he is now allegedly linked to the four gunpoint robberies. Mr. Webster is thought to associate with some of the CAG gang, the Columbus Avenue Gunnas.
Victims of the robberies ranged in age from 14 to 58 years old. Two cases have been sealed by the court, likely because of the victims’ ages. However, police report that on January 21st a 20 year old male who was making a delivery was approached at the front of 830 Columbus Avenue. The victim was shown a firearm, and robbed of $110 in cash.
On  January 23rd, the assailant approached a 58 year old male victim, produced a firearm, demanded money, and took about $200 in cash and a wallet. None of the victims were residents of Frederick Douglass Houses.
Mr. Webster is being held on $50,000 bail and $100,000 bond and has been charged with Robbery, 2nd Degree.
Isn’t it Gunnaz? I’ve noticed the gang crews seem to prefer the letter Z. I wonder what the AP Stylebook sayz.
This is just De Blasio’s new wealth redistribution scheme. None of the victims were from the projects, and the money went to a resident of the projects. And it’s not like this guy is lazy, robbing people is hard work and involves a lot of risk!
(Sorry, couldn’t resist. I don’t actually believe anything I just wrote above.)
How about some “props” once again to the 24th Precinct and Deputy Inspector Larin for excellent police work? it seems like a very large number of these incidents end with arrests.
Where did all these inhuman mutants come from? who creates them?
Let’s just hope that the gentleman is Gunna do some time if he did all this.
I wish you would resist. The silliness on this site over anything having to do with crime, real estate, politics, etc. is already too great. Why add to it?

@Jerry. Jokes are a good thing. Most of the site is commenters complaining about how their 1970s neighborhood is “no more” or about how to analyze crime incidents. I think a laugh or two can be a positive here.
Note to self: when committing a crime don’t wear easily identifiable clothing.
YO TARRELL! Yo that is A NICE JACKET! Whatup Tarrell!
The mayor wants the police to ignore broken windows type crimes like drinking alcohol in public. But without aggressive policing, this man might not have been caught.
