Your body is a walking, talking blueprint of your life story. You are expressing and reinforcing beliefs regarding your life story with every step you take, through your posture and its response to challenge. A mind-body connection recognizes that the body shows you as much about your beliefs unconsciously, as your mind rationalizes your story consciously; and by supporting both, as a cooperative team, you realize where the ambivalence to create the life you want resides.

Dr. David Hanscom, author of, Back In Control: A Spine Surgeon’s Roadmap Out Of Chronic Pain, says, “The victim role is Universal. The willingness to take an honest look at it is not. The best gift you can give yourself is to learn how to recognize your victimhood, process it, and move on!”

Tammy Wise, Tao Minister and founder of BodyLogos: A mind body approach to strength, says, “Uncertainty between mind and body leads to feeling victimized. Alignment between your mind and body creates an alliance that leads to feeling supported.” Tammy’s “work-in work-out”—BodyLogos—supports mind-body awareness and uses strength training as the challenge to bring about greater personal alignment. She calls it meditative strength training—an active meditation practice.

BodyLogos classes are held every Sunday from 3:30 to 4:45 at BeFitNYC, located at 2726 Broadway between 104th & 105th streets. Classes cost $20. Tammy focuses on sculpting the body and training the mind simultaneously. She places your attention on the self, helps you feel your alignment with the external resistance and identify any internal resistance to that alignment. Internal resistance is a negative mind-body pattern causing external misalignment. Once a mind-body holding pattern is identified through misalignment, it can be resolved and realigned both physically and emotionally. With this resolution, you have access to all your strength, in mind and body!

The BodyLogos Class is perfect for people wanting to integrate self-development and physical fitness for a deeper connection with themselves and their lives. Anyone injured or disheartened by traditional workouts can use BodyLogos as a self-affirming fitness to restore their body’s energy and integrity.

Dr. Hanscom also believes, “A deep spiritual connection to yourself and a higher power can be critical to healing.” And he advocates, “Active meditation is a go-to strategy for calming yourself through the day.” Come change the patterns that hold you back and build lasting strength that supports you in creating the life you want—Doctor’s Orders!

“Tammy Wise has created a wonderful program… accessible enough to users of different physical levels… complex enough to require constant refinement both physically and meditatively, making it a different workout each time.” Melissa Miller ~ Sensorimotor Therapist
