The B line shut down right at the height of rush hour on Monday because of an unspecified “rail condition” at 125th and 72nd streets.
The problems have disrupted service up and down the line, on A,B, C, and D trains, the MTA said.

The MTA announced the following changes around 5:30 p.m. (as of 8:30 p.m. the B was still down):
Due to a rail condition at 125 St and 72 St, the following service changes are in effect:
There is no train service between Bedford Park Blvd (Bronx) and DeKalb Av (Brooklyn) in both directions.
trains are running on the line between DeKalb Av and Whitehall St-South Ferry in both directions (northbound trains are terminating at Whitehall St-South Ferry).
Southbound trains are running local from 145 St to 59 St-Columbus Circle.
trains are running local between Norwood-205 St and 59 St-Columbus Circle in both directions.
There is no Rockaway Park-Beach 116 St train service.

Riders traveling to Brooklyn (Brighton Line) have the following options:
