The B line shut down right at the height of rush hour on Monday because of an unspecified “rail condition” at 125th and 72nd streets.

The problems have disrupted service up and down the line, on A,B, C, and D trains, the MTA said.

#ServAdv: b/d #A, #B, #C & #D service changes & delays, rail condition at 125 St & 72 St. Details at https://t.co/gYecYgUkcv

— NYCT Subway (@NYCTSubway) September 21, 2015

The MTA announced the following changes around 5:30 p.m. (as of 8:30 p.m. the B was still down):

Due to a rail condition at 125 St and 72 St, the following service changes are in effect:

There is no B Subway Line Icon train service between Bedford Park Blvd (Bronx) and DeKalb Av (Brooklyn) in both directions.

B Subway Line Icon trains are running on the R Subway Line Icon line between DeKalb Av and Whitehall St-South Ferry in both directions (northbound B Subway Line Icon trains are terminating at Whitehall St-South Ferry).

Southbound A Subway Line Icon trains are running local from 145 St to 59 St-Columbus Circle.

D Subway Line Icon trains are running local between Norwood-205 St and 59 St-Columbus Circle in both directions.

There is no Rockaway Park-Beach 116 St A Subway Line Icon train service.

A Subway Line Icon, B Subway Line Icon, C Subway Line Icon and D Subway Line Icon trains are running with delays in both directions.

Riders traveling to Brooklyn (Brighton Line) have the following options:

Take the Q Subway Line Icon

Take the D Subway Line Icon to Atlantic Av-Barclays Center and transfer to the B Subway Line Icon or Q Subway Line Icon

Take A Subway Line Icon, C Subway Line Icon or F Subway Line Icon to Jay St-MetroTech and transfer to the B Subway Line Icon on the R Subway Line Icon platform
