A pedestrian was hit by a taxicab at 69th street and Broadway around 5 p.m. on Saturday, according to Margaret Harbaugh, who came upon the scene shortly after the crash.

The cab hit the pedestrian in the crosswalk at 69th and Broadway, although it was unclear whether the person had the light. It “looked like taxi was turning onto Broadway southbound, from W 69th westbound, and hit the pedestrian crossing Broadway,” she wrote. An FDNY spokesman was not available for comment, and the pedestrian’s status was unknown. Mike Vooss sent in the photo below from across the street.

Update: Neither NYPD nor FDNY had details on the crash. An NYPD spokesman said it was not severe enough to warrant investigation by the Collision Investigation Squad.

Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
