The police are looking for the two people above for a late-night mugging near 110th and Lenox Avenue in Central Park. The 24-year-old victim told NBC that the man put her in a chokehold.

“I was grabbed, put in a chokehold, brought to my knees, brought to the ground,” she said. They took her purse, which was later found along a subway platform.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).

Shame on you and everybody else who thinks that the victim had any culpability in this violent crime.

And yes that includes questioning her being in the park at that time.

If I stick my hand into a hornet’s nest and I get stung, then yes, I am partly culpable. Have you heard of the Darwin Awards?

Webot I think you would agree that it’s very important to employ some common sense while walking around a big city at midnight, especially for a woman, walking alone.

That being said, I don’t “blame” the victim, I blame the scum of the earth that assaulted her and look forward to them enjoying the comfy confines of Rikers Island!

The park at night is dark and mostly empty. This is the environment that criminals like to capitalize on.

There is no need to live in fear but common sense and a healthy dose of street smarts go a long way in staying safe.
