Hundreds of Apple nerds lined up Friday morning to buy the new iPhone6 at the Apple store on Broadway and 67th street. The line wrapped around part of 67th street and then stretched back up Broadway all the way to 70th street, said Emily Baer, who took the photo below at 69th and Broadway.
Idiots ! The whole lot. The world is falling down , wars, poverty , pain and debt etc and these folks need the lastest gadgets.. I refuse to abide by the built in obsolescence that we as a society have become brainwashed to accept .. NONSENSE !
Not all nerds actually. Quite a few people on line – today for this release as well as for prior releases – are paid to buy the new product for “employers” or for resale, typically outside of the US. Similarly there are people on line for PR/advertising purposes – they are paid also.
You think this was crazy, you should have seen the scene at the store in the GM building. And there I’d say 75% of the people were Chinese immigrants buying for resale.
Definitely buying for resale… 9to5mac.com had this great video on just that: https://youtu.be/Ef_BznBwktw
I ordered online from my carrier. delivered today via FedEx.
easy.
Ironic that many will be sent back to China where they were made – the global economy at work.
Would be nice if Apple brought some extra garbage cans into the area for days like these. As one of my friends who lives on 67th and Amsterdam said, “The piles of garbage created by these fools this morning was disgusting. I’m not happy to have the line of tactless people wrapped around my building with each release.”
