Folk hero and activist Pete Seeger died in January, and his children have helped put together a five-day festival starting Thursday to honor his legacy. Many of the events are on the Upper West Side, with others scattered around the city and Hudson Valley. All of the events are free.
On Saturday, El Taller Latino on the 3rd floor of 2710 Broadway (104th) will host a show of photos and films of the Seegers. It starts at 8 p.m.
On Sunday, Lincoln Center will kick off its Out of Doors fest with a tribute concert in Damrosch Park starting at 4 p.m. There will be more than a dozen major performers, including Judy Collins, Peter Yarrow and Tom Chapin. Harry Belafonte and Michael Moore will speak.
Next Monday, another concert will take place in Central Park at Rumsey Playfield starting at 6 p.m..
