HOORAY! LOST LAB PUPPY ‘SADIE’ FOUND AT DOUGLASS HOUSES

Sadie with one of her owners after a visit to the vet.

We are excited to report that Sadie, the mixed black lab puppy who ran away after being hit by a car late last Tuesday night was found at the Douglass Houses and returned to its very grateful owners. Jess, one of the owners, sent us the details:

“A Good Samaritan took her in on the UWS and called us. Sadie didn’t make it far; she was found at Douglass housing. We are so fortunate that she saw our flyers an called us. As you can imagine we are over the moon and so, so relieved…

They brought Sadie inside on Wednesday at noon, after she’d been missing for 12 hours. At that point she was so weak she couldn’t walk, so they carried her inside and gave her water and food and nursed her back to life. They called the police but didn’t know what else to do until they saw our flyers on Thursday morning. We are eternally grateful to their family!”

Thanks to everyone for their concern and help looking for Sadie. I’d like to specifically thank The West Side Rag, Playground Pups and Little Creatures for putting up our fliers and getting Sadie’s picture to as many people as possible.

My wife and I (the owners) are so lucky to have found her at all but thanks to Carmen and her family she was also in great shape.

After a basically clean bill of health from the vet, Sadie rested all weekend and seems to be unaffected by the whole ordeal.

I’m glad you’re reunited! Now, you need to get her a collar tag with your contact info; a harness to walk her so she doesn’t slip the collar and lose her ID; and get her an ID tattoo and/or implanted microchip — your vet should be able to tell you where to get those done.

24PetWatch is the company that our UWS rescue organization used for registering our dog. Hope that’s helpful to you.

And thank goodness you were reunited!!!!

I love happy endings! What great news! So happy that Sadie crossed the path of an animal loving good samaritan who recognized a creature in need.

Your mom told me about your ordeal. I’m so glad the world has kind and caring people out there who go the extra mile to help out others! SO happy you have a happy ending to this “tail.” God bless you ALL!

So happy to hear this great news!
Has anyone heard any updates on the 3 lb Maltase that was taken from the owners home last week on 83rd St?
There are flyers along Columbus Ave and my hope is that their story ends the same as this one!
