CAFE BLOSSOM SAYS GOODBYE, HOPES TO REOPEN ON UWS

Cafe Blossom, the vegan restaurant on 82nd and Columbus, is closing in a week and the owners recently sent a note saying goodbye to customers.

The said the closure was caused by “building management issues beyond our control,” and pledged to reopen if they can find new space. We had heard that the rent was more than doubled.

“Lastly, we are exploring vacancies in the neighborhood and will be sure to send an update if we find the right location to reopen.”

Gothamist called Blossom’s Soy Bacon Cheeseburger one of the best vegan dishes in the city last year.

Read the restaurant’s full goodbye note here. And be sure to visit them at their other locations — Blossom Restaurant in Chelsea, Blossom on Carmine in the West Village, as well as V-Note on the Upper East Side.

Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
