A benefit for P.S. 84 – The Lillian Weber School Of The Arts
March 30, 2014 at 6:45pm
The Ailey Citigroup Theater/The Joan Weill Center for Dance

Bringing Broadway’s best to the stage has become the hallmark of The Lillian Weber School’s annual cabaret gala evening. Past artists include Jane Krakowski, Alan Menken and Kerri Butler. This year’s event brings together Broadway actors, musicians and writers John Cudia, Joe Iconis and Family, Beth Eunice and Dan Mills.

John Cudia, last seen on Broadway in The Phantom of the Opera, will be joined by songwriter Joe Iconis (songwriter NBC’s Smash), Beth Eunice (Stage 72, Don’t Tell Mama) and Dan Mills (folk singer-songwriter). PS 84‘s own Dan Elish (book writer of B’way musical 13) is the evening’s musical director and PS 84 parent and Broadway veteran Kari Nicolaisen, (A Chorus Line, Cats) is the emcee.

All proceeds from the evening fund PTA-supported art, science, health and wellness programs.

P.S. 84 is a neighborhood elementary school (K-5) serving a diverse community, that features a monolingual, Spanish and French dual-language programs — it is the only Manhattan school with all three offerings.

The 6:45pm reception and cocktail hour will be followed by 8:00pm performances and live auction. The Ailey Citigroup Theater/The Joan Weill Center for Dance is located at 405 West 55th Street. Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
