SNOW GALLERY: POOR LITTLE GEESE, ICE SCULPTURES AND FRIGID HUMANS

January 22, 2014 | 1:28 AM

Tuesday’s snowstorm was lovely, wasn’t it? A perfect day to go to your favorite restaurant, order some soup and sit by the window. Here are some of the best shots from the neighborhood.

These two are my favorite shots, of the geese in the Central Park Reservoir all tucked in.

These shots of ice sculptures down by the Bethesda Fountain are also pretty fantastic:

Who took the photo of the snowy cars with tree on left and apt bldgs on right? Wow. It truly is one oft favorite nyc snowy photos now. Where was this? It was captured so beautifully. I saved it to my iPhone and might even make an actual photograph out of it. You could sell this one. It’s gorgeous. Perfect. I really enjoy it. Thanks for capturing this beautiful, still, winter nyc moment.

Wow, these are simply marvelous. I hope they are all included in history books about our big storm. I’m currently rereading The Blizzard of 1888 by Mary Cable. It’s retells the story of the massive storm that hit New York March 10th 1888

Living in Germany, the Rheinland, this year. Haven’t really missed my city until looking at these pics – especially, oddly, the 103rd St. subway station. My station for 18 years.

WOW! THANK YOU! That photo answers, for all time, the famed but previously-unanswered question posed by Holden Caulfield (Catcher In the Rye) — ‘what happens to the Central Park ducks in the winter?’
