6 REASONS TO LOVE ‘HOLIDAY UNDER THE STARS’

Holiday Under the Stars Image

Here are six reasons why the Time Warner Center’s Holiday Under the Stars show, which was recently installed, is clearly Manhattan’s greatest holiday display. Rockefeller Center, eat your heart out!

1. Twelve glowing stars, each of them fourteen feet high, changing colors in choreographed patterns to holiday music: What’s not to love?

2. It’s indoors. This is helpful during the winter.

3. While the mall is often packed during the holidays, it’s not nearly as crowded as midtown near Rockefeller Center or other attractions. No one is likely to elbow you out of the way, or throw a tantrum.

4. There are several bathrooms nearby. If you have small children, this is also a key factor.

5. There are tons of stores, as well as copious food and alcohol nearby. You can even ride the escalators to Whole Foods up and down while looking up at the dancing stars and eating delicious pretzel bread.

6. It’s free!

do not be fooled comrades!

This is a right wing plot to take over the UWS.

Time Warner center and corporate america want you to think they are giving you something. while taking away our neighborhood with rich condos and mall stores.

Do not be fooled , power to the people

Not sure if trolling or serious. In case it’s the former, take a deep breath and realize NYC is the heart of capitalism, be it big business and luxury or mom-and-pop shops – all are welcome and have long managed to co-exist.

Let’s take a step away from the small store/large store politics, which will clearly never be resolved, and is happening all over the world, not just on the UWS. The stars in the Time Warner Center are totally magical, and without equal anywhere in Manhattan. I will sometimes go by in December just to get cheered up by it.
