This Saturday, stop by and check out a yard sale that’s developed quite a reputation in the neighborhood. Caitlin Hawke sent the following description:
On Saturday, the West 104th Street Block Association rolls out its 24th Annual Yard Sale. And make no mistake: this sale is not another cookie-cutter street fair! It is a genuine neighborhood tradition filled with friends and neighbors and local bargains galore.
Laid out from West End Avenue to Riverside Drive all along W. 104th Street, this yard sale will have 60 tables of all sorts. Bikes, books, CDs, DVDs, toys, kid’s and adult’s clothes, kitchen supplies, more kids’ stuff and treasures from neighbors’ closets will all pour out onto the street from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It’s like a mega-multi-family garage sale crossed with an old-time street fair.
When you are finished bargain hunting, stick around because there’s also a silent auction and the chance to buy a raffle ticket and win the jackpot of hundreds of dollars. They don’t make ‘em like this anymore. And it’s all right here on our own UWS.
Where: West 104th Street between Riverside Drive and West End Avenue (take the 1 Train to the 103rd St. stop or arrive by the M104, M60 or M5 bus)
When: Saturday, September 28, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
What: Bargains, good food, music and spirit galore!
