We received this today from authorities looking for a man named Thomas Murphy, who has gone missing:

“Alert issued 5/28/13 at 6:55 PM. NYPD has issued a Silver Alert for the disappearance of Thomas Murphy, male, white, 79 years old, 5’10” tall, 160 lbs., from West 89th Street and Broadway in Manhattan. Mr. Murphy was last seen leaving his residence alone wearing blue pants, a black sweater, and a blue Columbia University baseball hat. He suffers from advanced Alzheimer’s, and is carrying unused AMEX and metro cards. A photo is attached; if you see Mr. Murphy, please call 9-1-1.”

Update: he is home safe.
