Event 1: Friday
What: Communal Paper Shredding Event for Earth Day
When: Friday, April 19, 10am – 11:30am
Where: PS 166, 132 West 89th St., bet. Columbus/Amsterdam Aves., across from West Side Community Garden
Why:To celebrate Earth Day and clear our homes, schools, offices of unwanted paper in a safe and sustainable way
Who: Hosted by PS 166 Green/Wellness Committee and Royal Waste Services

Donation: $10 per person fee to cover the cost of the truck; bring as much as you want to shred.
Tax time is here, Earth Day is approaching (April 22nd).
Royal Waste Services is partnering with PS 166 to offer safe and sustainable document destruction by recycling your old tax documents, bank statements, credit card applications, papers and photos.
NO 3-RING BINDERS, NO METAL CLIPS OR METAL FROM HANGING FILE FOLDERS.
Payment is cash only; exact change preferred.
Event 2: Sunday
WHAT: Electronic Waste Recycling Event
WHEN: Sunday, April 21, 2013 10AM-4PM, Rain or Shine
WHERE: Amsterdam Avenue between West 74th and 75th Streets, Manhattan
On Sunday, April 21, 2013 Council Member Gale A. Brewer, along with the Lower East Side Ecology Center and Upper West Side Recycling, welcomes Spring with a free e-waste recycling event. This event will provide individuals, not-for-profits and businesses with the opportunity to safely recycle electronic items, including working and non-working computers, monitors, printers, scanners, keyboards, mice, cables, TV’s, VCR’s, DVD players, phones, audio/visual equipment, cell phones & PDA’s.
All are welcome to attend this free event. There is no limit on the amount of materials that can be dropped off, and a tax deduction is offered. I was looking for a place to recycle today, if possible and came to this website which in bold letters says Friday and Sunday. I thought “how great”! Very annoying to discover the misleading graphics indicate you mean in th emonth of April. Remove this pate!!!
