IRVING FARM BARISTAS SAY ‘THE GRINCH’ STOLE THEIR TIPS

December 19, 2012 | 9:55 AM

Irving Farm, the coffee shop on 79th Street just East of Broadway, was visited by a man they call The Grinch last week. They say he reached into the tip jar while no one was looking and stole their tips.

Well, no human was watching. The store’s security camera apparently caught him; the employees took the security camera image and attached it to the tip bucket along with the note above. There wasn’t a lot of money in the bucket at the time he snatched it, but still: That’s just wrong!

A customer who saw the picture said that same man has done this in other establishments, the employee told us.

The police aren’t involved yet, but the employee said that she might bring it up if cops come in for a cup of Joe. In the meantime, keep an eye on those tips. (and remember, this guy is innocent until proven guilty!)

Thanks to our anonymous tipster for the photo.

Is that why there are no signs of the season in the store?
