A 35-year-old woman told police she was sexually assaulted this morning in the Great Hill area of Central Park. The woman said she had first encountered the man while walking South at 113th Street and 7th Avenue and the two entered the park together, according to DNAinfo. The two entered into conversation, Gothamist reported, but the woman apparently did not know her attacker. She said he assaulted her around 103rd Street just inside the park off of Central Park West, sometime between 6 and 7 a.m.
Otherwise, police released few details about the crime.
“The suspect is described as a light-skin black male, 6′ – 6-2” in his 60’s wearing a yellow jacket,” according to parks advocate Geoffrey Croft, who wrote about the attack at his blog A Walk in the Park.
