NO CRIMINAL CHARGES AFTER DELIVERY WORKER KILLED BY TRUCK ON COLUMBUS

Luis Enriquez died today after getting hit by a truck while delivering soda this morning in front of Pioneer supermarket on Columbus Avenue between 73rd and 74th streets. Enriquez slipped while making deliveries from a 7-Up truck and got hit by a passing truck around 8:20 a.m., an NYPD detective told us. No criminal charges were filed.

The Daily News reported that Enriquez was unloading soda from the back of the truck when he fell off and was hit by a truck from Big John’s Moving. A co-worker told the Daily News that Enriquez had just started working for the company a few months prior.

Enriquez, a 62-year-old from Queens, was pronounced dead at Roosevelt Hospital.

The photographer who sent us the pictures wished to remain anonymous.
