A five-story building at 176-182 West 82nd Street in a historic district will get a “modest” 5,546 square foot penthouse if The Naftali Group gets its way. The plan to convert the 20-unit building into 11 luxury units was passed by a community board committee but stil needs to go before the Landmarks Preservation Commission. The building has apparently been dilapidated for awhile. (Curbed)
Under an MTA plan expected to be revealed next month, single bus and subway fares would rise to $2.50, monthly cards would go from $104 to $109, and those bonuses you get when you buy a card would disappear. (Daily News)

Paul Simon was in the audience at a Bobby McFerrin concert for Jazz at Lincoln Center. McFerrin began singing “Scarborough Fair,” and then stopped after hearing Simon was in the audience. “‘How could you do that to me,’ Simon said good-naturedly as he joined McFerrin onstage at the Rose Theater for an unexpected guest turn.” (AP)
