TAXI-SUV CRASH ON 79TH STREET SENDS ONE TO HOSPITAL

A taxi and a minivan collided in the southbound lane of Broadway at 79th Street tonight around 8 p.m., sending one person to Roosevelt Hospital with minor injuries, FDNY told us. Phil Vasquez, who took the photo above, told us that the taxi driver and the driver of the van appeared to be okay, but at least one passenger in the van was injured. The van was carrying a child who looked two or three years old — the child seemed to be okay, Phil said.

The NYPD didn’t have anything yet on the incident, but we’ll update if we learn more.

Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
