SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK’S 50TH SEASON STARTS TONIGHT

The 50th Season of Shakespeare in the Park starts tonight with As You Like It, Shakespeare’s famous comedy set in a forest in France. As the Public puts it:

“In As You Like It, Rosalind, Shakespeare’s most breathtaking heroine, and her boyfriend Orlando find themselves in the enchanted Forest of Arden, where all the world’s a stage, and where sudden infatuation is as confusing as it is beautiful.”

Lily Rabe plays Rosalind.

Shows start at 8 p.m. but you’ll have to get there early or win an online lottery if you want tickets (the website has been really slow today). Here’s the schedule.

Also, the Hudson Warehouse is holding its own Shakespeare fest, with Comedy of Errors starting this Thursday in Riverside Park at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument on 89th Street.

If you go, let us know what you think!

Please limit comments to 150 words and keep them civil and relevant to the article at hand. Comments are closed after six days. Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
