West Side Rag columnist Malcolm Carter sent us this photo of the Ben & Jerry’s on 104th Street and Broadway. As part of an annual tradition, the ice cream company is giving out free ice cream cones today until 8 p.m. The 104th Street store is the only one in the neighborhood.

It’s great for the neighborhood, not an ounce of absurdity about it.
I live across the street, and the line wound its way down 104th, around up Amsterdam. so, 40 minute wait for a $1.50 free cone. That is absurd. Three ounces of absurdity (and a cone).
