MASSIVE LINE FORMS FOR BIG NICK’S BURGER FEST; “A FEW HUNDRED POUNDS OF EXTRA MEAT”

February 22, 2012 | 2:58 PM

Big Nick’s is drawing an amazing crowd this afternoon as the restaurant celebrates its 50th anniversary by rolling back prices on some food to 1962 prices. That means burgers are 60 cents, french fries are 30 cents and grilled cheese sandwiches are 50 cents.

The deal has brought out droves of burger-lovers to the community institution; the line around lunchtime stretched all the way up Broadway to the end of the block, and around the corner on 77th Street.

Leslie Albrecht tells us that Nick’s wife told her that the restaurant had ordered “a few hundred pounds” of extra meat. Get over there by midnight and get a quarter pound of it!
