Shortly after publishing our map of 25 Upper West Side businesses that have opened or closed (or are about to) we found out about two new food spots that just opened.
One is Paninoteca (left), a sandwich spot on Columbus Avenue between 72nd and 73rd Street that opened this week in place of Soup or Sandwich, whose closing we mentioned in our previous post. It turns out that Paninoteca is owned by the same people who owned Soup or Sandwich.
In addition, Vive La Crepe, a coffee and crepe spot, just opened on Columbus between 68th and 69th Streets, right next to Bomboloni. The eatery offers savory crepes, like including ham and gruyere, and spinach goat cheese and mushroom, as well as sweet crepes with nutella and other fillings. Check out the crepe menu below. When I went in to order a coffee today, they said I could have it for free (no, I hadn’t told them I run a blog; they just said they wanted people to try their coffee). Anyway, the coffee was tasty, and I’m not just saying that because it was free.

We will certainly never complain about a new restaurant opening on the Upper West Side! Especially not ones as delicious as Paninoteca and Vive La Crepe!
