A mother who threw her baby into the Hudson River near 70th Street last year in a murder-suicide attempt will get the chance to plead not guilty by reason of insanity, prosecutors told DNAinfo. The mother, Devi Silvia, was angry at her husband and she stormed out of her Trump Place building with the baby and sped toward the Hudson River. The 19-month old baby survived the plunge into the cold water after passers-by quickly got involved, and FDNY and NYPD units pulled her out of the water. Silvia is bipolar, and has been receiving psychiatric treatment. (DNAinfo)

Police say a man groped a 6 year old boy’s buttocks in a playground bathroom next to the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Sunday at 9:15 a.m. The man wasn’t caught. Parents said the children’s bathroom at the Ancient Playground is often closed, forcing kids to use the adult bathroom. (NY Daily News)
