News:
Brownstone Brooklynites are paying their nannies about $15 an hour, on average. A new survey reveals their pay and how many are off the books. I wish we had a similar survey about the Upper West Side. (NY Times)

Upper West Side native Ben Stiller stars in a caper-comedy about an Upper West Side meanie and the “help” who work in his apartment. Allegedly, co-star Eddie Murphy is actually funny again. It opens today. (NY Daily News)

Generators used to power equipment for the marathon have been running nonstop for more than a week, and the noise and semllis upsetting residdetns. City Council member Gale Brewer wants the cit to use cleaner, quieter generators. (DNAinfo)

SoHo home accessories and tabletop store Global Table will open at 83rd Street and Amsterdam. (NY Times)

The Upper West Side, Morningside Heights and West Harlem have the fewest stalled construction sites in the city. Officials attribute that to Upper West Siders knowing their rights and not being afraid to complain. (Columbia Spectator)
