July 6, 2011 Weather: Mostly Sunny, High of 91 Degrees.

Notices:
Beacon Paint & Hardware wants to hold a blood drive on Tuesday, July 26 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. But they need to sign up at least 25 more people to get nurses to come. The summer is notoriously slow for blood drives. Call the hardware store and sign up! 212-787-1090.

News:
A bank robber who hit Columbus Circle a couple of weeks ago appears to have struck now in Times Square. (DNAinfo)

The two new Shakespeare in the Park plays got panned in the Huffington Post last week, but they got better reviews in the Observer today. “All’s Well that Ends Well is wonderful, Measure for Measure is somewhat less so, and both provide a fine chance to spend an evening at the loveliest place in New York.” (NY Observer)

Please limit comments to 150 words and keep them civil and relevant to the article at hand. Comments are closed after six days. Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
