The show before the show in Riverside Park. Photo by Avi.

July 5, 2011 Weather: Sunny, High of 91 Degrees.

Notices:

Check out our list of events this week, including a FREE concert tonight by Bela Fleck at the Apple Store!

What to do if your doorman asks you out. (Brick Underground)

News:
A Riverside Park employee put rat poison near a hawk nest in Riverside Park, the same nest where a red-tailed hawk had been killed by poison just two months ago. Hawk watchers are irate. (DNAinfo)

Gus, the Central Park Zoo polar bear, has been depressed since his companion Ida died. But the zoo isn’t likely to get him a new friend. (NY Times)
