The photo above was sent to us by Upper West Sider Paul Katcher of a woman playing piano on a pier off of Riverside Park as part of yesterday’s Make Music NY Festival.

News:
An Upper West Side physics professor ran a prostitution ring as a hobby, police said. David Flory, 68, is a specialist in quantam theory at Fairleigh Dickinson University when he’s not allegedly running a massive prostitution ring from his vacation home in New Mexico. His neighbors at the Belnord on 86th Street are shocked. (New York Post)

As you’ve probably already heard, H&H bagels on 80th Street is closing. We’ll have more on that later.

A dozen sculptures by members of the Art Students League will be unveiled in Riverside Park South on Friday (DNAinfo)

Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
