Fitness walks in Riverside Park have begun. Don’t miss the boat….or the walk, in this case. They meet on Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:00 a.m. in Riverside Park at 83rd St. These free fitness walks are led by experienced fitness instructors. Visit NYC Parks for more information.

Want to stay in New York as you age? Would you like to learn some of the challenges and some of the solutions? Come to the St. Luke’s Hospital panel discussion at 421 West 113th Street, “Life Force in Later Years,” on Wednesday, June 8 at 6:30 p.m. Plan for your future.

Harriet Flehinger writes about the community of active seniors on the Upper West Side for the West Side Rag.

Please limit comments to 150 words and keep them civil and relevant to the article at hand. Comments are closed after six days. Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate. A detailed statement on comments and WSR policy can be read here.
