As much as a foot of snow could fall by Monday morning, and that’s led to changes for parents and some people who were scheduled to get vaccines. The mayor issued a “state of emergency” due to the storm, restricting non-essential travel from 6:00 a.m. on Monday to 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

Remote school, some say, means the end of snow days for good, because students can simply log in from home. That will be the case on Monday. Everyone’s remote.

As for vaccines, anyone scheduled to get one at a city site or the Javits Center will be rescheduled for another day, the mayor and governor said. Mt. Sinai locations will still be open for second shots, the hospital chain said on its website. As for other sites, it’s not entirely clear, so be sure to check with the provider.

If you’d like to take out a sled, we put together a list of local sledding hills.

Let the kids have their snow day! It’s been a rough enough year as it is.

Bless you. Exactly right — let the kids be kids again for a day. Snow days are a sacred childhood right.
