Two Assaults Reported at One Subway Station; Police Ask for Help Finding Suspects

Police are asking for the public’s help in solving two recent assaults in the neighborhood, both of which occurred in the 81st Street subway station. Below are the police accounts.

It was reported to police that on Friday, June 14, 2019, at approximately 2200 hours, inside of the 81st Street/Museum of Natural History “B/C” subway station, the male slashed the 37-year-old male victim on the face with an unknown sharp object following a dispute. The male fled the station northbound on Central Park West. The victim was removed to Lenox Hill Hospital in stable condition with a laceration to the face.

The person wanted for questioning is described as a male Hispanic, 18-28 years old; last seen wearing a black shirt with the words “just buckets” on the front in white lettering, black sweatpants, and black/white sandals.

Anyone with information in regard to the identity of this male is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or on Twitter @NYPDTips.

All calls are strictly confidential.

The other assault occurred on June 7, according to NYPD.

It was reported to police that on Friday, June 7, 2019 at approximately 2030 hours, in the vicinity of West 81st Street subway station aboard a southbound “C” train, the 34-year-old female victim was involved in a verbal dispute with an unidentified female which escalated into a physical altercation. The female punched the victim in the face and removed her cell phone and exited the train. The victim was transported by private means to Mt. Sinai Hospital to be treated for laceration and pain.

The person wanted for questioning is described as a female Black, 20-30 years of age; last seen wearing a purple wig and black mini dress.

Anyone with information in regard to the identity of this female is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM, on Twitter @NYPDTips.
