A billboard on the West Side Highway advertising Wodka vodka proclaimed that the company offers “Christmas Quality, Hanukkah Pricing,” which appears to reinforce a nasty stereotype about Jews. The company responded in part: “Simply put Hanukkah represents a better value because you get 8 nights for the price of 1 – much like Wodka, more for less.” The Anti-Defamation League and many other New Yorkers called on the company to take the sign down, and they eventually did, leaving the sign in a crumpled heap on the side of the road.
