“At 6:25 am, Friday morning, an unidentified male was found hanging from a rope attached to a bridge inside of Central Park near 82nd Street,” according to an NYPD spokesperson, who said that suicide is suspected.
Early morning dog walkers were somber as word spread, and police tape cordoned off a large swath of the park. A Central Park Conservancy worker told West Side Rag that a co-worker had found the body upon arriving for his shift.

How horrible. Based on the description provided, it sounds like the Winterdale Arch which carries the Park Drive over the Bridle Path.
So sad. Please all the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255) if you are thinking about harming yourself. Please!

Very sad indeed…may he Rest In Peace…
How very sad, poor unfortunate soul. May God grant him eternal rest in peace.
Was just at that area of park last evening and was thinking how people could literally camp out in CP all night and no one would notice anything until next day.
How sad. It must have been devastating for the person who found him.
NY Post has his ID and some more details. Story filed 9:26 pm….

The theater can be a cruel business. People are passionately drawn to it and make incredible sacrifices to work in the arts for very little reward in most cases. I used to produce industrial films and once had an Oscar winning actress audition for a role in a piece that paid just over scale. It broke my heart.
Sadly, this man fell into the demographic most at risk in the US for suicide. According to CDC WISQARS data middle aged to elderly white men are at the highest risk for suicide of any other demographic by a wide margin.
At some point our society may get serious about suicide prevention. Until then, many will perish in the midst of a moment’s despair.
Dear Clean & Sober, thank you for your honesty. We never know what someone is suffering while putting on a brave face. Kudos to you for getting help & staying sober. Best of luck.

Thing is when you read the guy’s Tweets he was into his body (physical fitness), career, UWS/Manhattan (Columbus avenue street fair was mentioned) and had an overall positive attitude. That and he loved his team, the Chicago Cubs. Last thing one would expect after reading his Twitter feeds is this very sad end.
You can’t know a person through social media. It is how participants mythologize their own lives in the way they want others to see them. It is not a representation of reality.
Well since neither you nor I knew the deceased personally, I’ll take my chances with what he left the world about himself.
Does it really matter at this point anyway?
