Trattoria Machiavelli on 85th and Columbus is celebrating Carnivale this year from Jan. 27 to Feb. 6 with costumes, Venetian specialties and wines of the region, as well as special live music events. Zagat called Machiavelli one of the top restaurants in the West 80’s and gave it one of the best decor ratings in the neighborhood. The restaurant makes handmade pasta the traditional way and offers Northern Italian traditional fare.

carnivale3Carnivale is a wonderful, exciting spectacle. Thousands of tourists from all over the world visit Italy to participate in the magnificence and wonder of “Carnivale”, especially the Venice Carnival. This truly exceptional event turns the Venetian streets into a magical scene, celebrating fashion, lifestyle and culture for over 300 years.

Don’t miss the night of Opera on Feb. 3 with The Secret Opera and a night of Jazz and Masquerade on the closing evening, Feb. 6th.

And here’s another special sweetener: People who come to Carnivale with a mask and mention the West Side Rag will get a glass of prosecco when they order a meal!
