WHAT IS THIS, PALM BEACH? TEMPERATURES TO GET EVEN TOASTIER THIS WEEKEND

You’ve heard of Christmas in July. Well, what about July weather at Christmas? No, that doesn’t have much of a ring to it. But here we are in mid-December and people are wearing shorts! Shorts! The high temperature in Central Park on Friday was 60 degrees.

This weekend temperatures in the city are expected to rise to the mid-60’s, and might even set a new record.

Re: “What Is This, Palm Beach?”

Definitely NOT!

NYC could NEVER be as vapid and boring as Palm Beach…both the town and its surrounding county, as one UWS’er spending his winter down here knows first hand.

The town of Palm Beach is an enclave for the one-percent (including a certain presidential candidate with weird hair). Worth Avenue, its main drag, is filled with slack-jawed tourists taking selfies in front of the super-expensive shops.

The county of Palm Beach features a huge population of suburban retirees who refer to this “Long-Island-But-With-Palm-Trees” as “Paradise”…if Paradise were filled with gated communities, strip malls, and outlets of every fast-food and aspirational-dining chain restaurant known to 21st Century mankind.

AND, of course, let us NOT forget that Palm Beach County is notorious for the “Butterfly Ballot” election debacle that gave us George W. Bush as President.

Nope, NYC could NEVER be Palm Beach!

Love this, Scooter Sam. The daughter of a couple who retired there and died there, I know just what you mean. I never could distinguish one huge street from another, and I could never find anything because it’s as you say: one strip mall after another and one gated community after another. Sorry you’re down there. Glad I’m up here — at least now.

It’s called in politically correct language, Climate Change. Sooner than all you sun lovers think, Manhattan, Miami, and many other coastal cities will be under water; in NYC winter temperatures will be below freezing and the summers will be 110 degrees. Hurricanes and tornadoes will be frequent occurrences. So—enjoy your shorts in December and jokes about DeBlasio. Neither will be around here much longer!

I don’t mind freezing winters and broiling summers.

I just wish DeBozo would go away!
