NEW DATA PROVES UPPER WEST SIDERS COMPLAIN MORE THAN JUST ABOUT ANYONE

    March 29, 2013 | 2:28 PM
    in ABSURDITY, NEWS

Upper West Siders have a reputation as complainers, and now we’ve got hard data to back that up: the federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau released data that shows that Upper West Siders complained to them more than nearly anyone else about credit card companies, according to an analysis by Bloomberg News.

To be sure, the CPFB did not tally the total complaints to the credit card companies themselves, which is where most people go when they’re upset about charges. They’re just looking at complaints to the CPFB itself, which is an agency created after the financial crisis to help consumers dealing with large financial institutions that maybe, just maybe, are trying to fleece them.

People who live in zip codes 10023 and 10024 lodged a total of 54 complaints to the CPFB in the past two years, behind only the complainers of Boca Raton, who lodged 94 complaints. A total of 18,539 complaints were lodged nationally. Capital One received the most complaints.

The truth is most Americans have never heard of the CFPB and would not go to the trouble of calling them. So the data might just show that Upper West Siders are simply much more informed and willing to get political than other people.

Nonetheless, complaints are complaints, and we do love to complain.

“So the data might just show that Upper West Siders ares imply much more informed and willing to get political than other people.” I think that is EXACTLY right.

But the graphic accompanying a March 23 NYT article (“The Mayor’s Geek Squad”) shows that it was NOT the UWS but Zip Code 11226 (Brooklyn’s Flatbush/Ditmas Park) that had the “highest number of 311 calls.”

However, the UWS Zip Code 10023 was credited as “The ZIP code with the highest residential electrical consumption in the city”.

    That’s … SHOCKING!

Guess whatever we’re doing, it’s … SIMPLY ELECTRIFYING.

Yes! And I’m sure that 10025 isn’t very far behind.

Why am I not surprised?!! But they forgot to include 10025? Those of us above W.96th on up love to complain as well. And why shouldn’t we- if you’re not getting the service you deserve (do you hear me Time Warner Cable?) then you need to speak up.

If enough people in 10025 were to complain, they would *have* to include you among the highest complainers. Go for it!

Upper West Siders will go down in history as the most proudly fascist dupes of jet-skiing tobacco farmer and now oil money baren, Al Gore and his Upper West Side enabler James “Coal Death Trains” Hansen comically perched above Tom’s Diner, unaffiliated with the real science departments of Columbia, where science students work on holidays past midnight instead of complain. That the biggest scientific fraud of all time has your name on it, and that this scam is squandering R&D funds that by real rights should go to antibiotics research instead of silly windmills, well, the plaque to come will be something you have no right to complain about.

“Woo hoo, we win,” indeed, for no longer are real astronaut scientists suffering the tragedy of brazen scientific fraud committed in their name courtesy of the UWS:

As of today, Hansen is no longer with NASA:

“Initially, Dr. Hansen plans to work out of a converted barn on his farm in Pennsylvania.”

I’d like to complain about your article. 54 complaints in two years? and that makes the stat outstanding? Compared to 0 maybe. BUt compared to over 180,000 residents? That’s insignificant. That’s like judging all UWS pizza shops by the bite of one slice! Pullease.
And, besides, why not complain? If someone doesn’t know about a problem they can’t fix it. And being that our politicians betrayed our mom n pop stores by allowing big box stores to pollute our community, I’m surprised that the number of complaints isn’t exponentially much higher.
Years ago, it used be said that one complaint letter submitted represented 499 persons that didn’t bother to write in. Now, in view of our historically low literacy levels, that number has increased to 5000 non writers. So, in effect, the number 54 can be translated as 270,000! A number representative of more, or equal, the number of residents in 10023-10024. Complaining trumps apathy 🙂

I’m wondering why they’re not complaining to their corrupt politicians who represent special interest.Taking their tax money and give to other rich nations so (corruption) call foreign aid.
