A woman was sexually assaulted at knifepoint on Saturday night in Central Park, a police spokesperson told West Side Rag.
A 39-year-old woman was walking near 66th Street and Fifth Avenue around 8:30 p.m., when a man approached her with a knife, police said. He then sexually assaulted her within a wooded area of the park, police said.
The man eventually fled the scene, police added. The woman was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, NYPD said.
There have been no arrests as of 3 p.m. on Sunday, police told the Rag.

Horrific story. Not sure 66th & 5th is really UWS territory, but it’s still important to be informed. That poor woman.
Wake up NYC. Get the city back to the Bloomberg years of managing crime (broken windows etc). Stop saying it’s ‘after dark’ and so why would anyone walk into the park to any and all crimes taking place in the Park
This is incredibly tragic and potentially life-changing for this woman.
I wonder what the crime apologists will come up with now:
8:30 p.m. is too late to be in Central Park?
Quote statistics over and over, trying to gaslight us into believing it’s all just a “perception of crime”?
Call it another isolated incident because crime is down anyway?
Or maybe they’ll just praise Mamdani for being as great as he is.
Anything but blame the attacker and question why our public spaces aren’t safe.
Let me guess – he just got out of jail for the tenth time.
