You can buy the legendary singer Sting’s former Upper West Side apartment. You’ll just need tens of millions of dollars.
The penthouse once owned by the longtime frontman of the rock band The Police, atop 15 Central Park West, between West 61st and 62nd streets, recently hit the market for $45 million, as first reported by the New York Post.
The duplex penthouse on the 16th and 17th floors comes with four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a private terrace with 400 square feet of outdoor space, views of Central Park, and a fireplace, according to the listing.
Sting, whose real name is Gordon Sumner, purchased the apartment in 2007 for $27 million, before selling the unit in 2017 for $50 million, records show. While the ownership of the penthouse changed hands, the new buyers never actually lived in the Upper West Side home, and are now listing it for $5 million less than their purchasing price, the New York Post reported.
Other famous current and former residents of 15 Central Park West include Robert De Niro, Denzel Washington, Mark Wahlberg, and Alex Rodriguez.

It’s Sumner, not Summer.
Thanks, fixed.
The 15 West apartment has been staged to within an inch of its beige.
I didn’t reallize that Sting had so many pale pink and beige dresses as well.
The only reason it is available is that Sting and his wife moved into one of the Billionaire Row buildings – the ones that are going to be first in line for the new pied-a-terre tax. So if he doesn’t spend at least 183 days per year in the apartment, he will be subject to the new tax.
Or he’ll just move from NYC to south Florida like everyone else.
Looks like he can probably afford it.
No, I think I’ll pass.
They allow free double parking on CPW
I don’t think these types of people have to worry about parking, Ken. I used to live a few doors down from David Sanborn’s townhouse on the UWS and just about every day a limo would pull up to his place and he’d jump in the back with his sax.
I remember when he lived on 69 & CPW. I’d see him with Trudy in Central Park frequently.
I thought he lived in the Arconia? Or maybe that was just Season 1?
