October 17th through 19th
Open House New York: Friday to Sunday, October 17th to 19th; locations, times and other details — HERE. Free and open to all.
Get behind-the-scenes tours of some of New York’s most special spaces this weekend, including several on the UWS, during the annual Open House New York Weekend. Learn, for example, about the Rail Yard History of Riverside Park South, the Lotus Garden on West 97th Street between West End and Broadway, or Congregation Ohab Zedek – the 100-year-old synagogue on West 95th Street, between Amsterdam and Columbus avenues. These and dozens of other sites are open for drop-in tours with live or audio guides available, no tickets required. For a full listing, use this link.
“Conflict and the Healing of Hatred” – A Conversation at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine; Sunday, October 19th, from 1 to 2:30 p.m.; 1047 Amsterdam Avenue at West 112th Street. Tickets start at $5.
Join clergy, peacemakers and program staff from the Rossing Center for Education and Dialogue in Jerusalem as they discuss ideas and methods for addressing conflict based on tools utilized in spiritual counseling. This discussion is part of the cathedral’s “Dialogues on Divinity” series, which addresses contemporary issues through a theological lens.
Renoir Drawings at the Morgan Library and Museum; 225 Madison Avenue at East 36th Street; open Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Tuesday through Sunday 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed on Mondays). Tickets start at $13.
If you’re willing to venture out of the neighborhood, the Morgan is making your travel worth the trouble as it opens its much-anticipated exhibition of drawings by French artist Auguste Renoir today. Though Renoir is often celebrated for his iconic Impressionist paintings, his lesser-known drawings, watercolors and pastels were just as important to him and his creative development. This show is the first in a century to look in depth at Renoir’s work on paper, showcasing nearly 100 pastels, prints and watercolors, plus a small selection of paintings. A family guide is available, with text and activities for younger visitors.

Heads up – another weekend without bus access/bus reroutes.
Per PIX11 website, there is a bike event on Sunday with many street closures.
That is besides “open streets” closures and any other events.

At 2 pm Saturday, Oct. 18, people will meet at 74th Street and West End Avenue for NO KINGS DAY.
Be safe everyone! 🙏

Could be, but the MAIN Manhattan No Kings gathering Saturday will be at Father Duffy Square (47th St. & Broadway), 11:00 AM–01:00 PM, followed by another at West 125th St. & Amsterdam Ave. running 01:00–02:30 PM.(1) There will also be two events, 10:00 AM–12:00 PM and 12:00–2:00 PM, at Fort Washington Avenue & West 164th Street, on the overpass bridge.(2) At least two more are planned: the NYCCLC march at Duarte Square (Canal St. & Sixth Ave.), 11:00 AM–01:00 PM, heading north to 14th St. to meet the anchor event(3); and, from Housing Works, 10:45 AM–01:00 PM at the Fox Building (48th St. & Sixth Avenue, SW cor.).(4)
I hear the color of choice for attendees’ attire will be yellow(5), so I look forward to seeing a great many bananas there, along with raccoons, frogs, and in general anyone who finds tyranny objectionable, especially here in America.

Also note:
“Anchor” event will take place in Times Square’s Father Duffy Square from 11 am to 1 pm, likely drawing the biggest crowd. From there, uptown momentum continues in Morningside Heights, with a rally at West 125th Street and Amsterdam Avenue from 1 pm to 2:30 pm.
