Silver Stars Fitness is a NYC fitness company that is located on West 54th/7th Ave and was created thirteen years ago specifically to help men and women over 55/60 improve their health & overall fitness level.
Our members come to us for a lot of different reasons, but the majority of men and women over 55/60 want to improve their upper and lower body strength. This is for good reason because strength is the driver for good balance, helps to reduce aches & pains, improves posture and makes you move, feel & look better.
“We start to lose muscle after the third decade of life and this loss of muscle/strength accelerates once we get in to our sixth decade , says Jason Greenspan, the founder & CEO of Silver Stars. “Losing muscle tissue can make you feel and look older than your actual age. “Increasing muscle and strength after the age of 60 can help increase and improve the quality of your life”.
According to Greenspan, in order to build or re-build strength & muscle, for starters , you need to be consistent and work with weights two times per week. In addition, there has to be some form of safe progression. This means at the end of your set the weight should feel like it’s challenging to lift for another two or three times. If we don’t progress by using a heavier weight or progress to the next level of that particular exercise, the body will adapt and not get stronger.
At Silver Stars, we encourage everyone to train twice per week. If this is not possible, we provide a short in -home program that our members can perform at home. If they have any questions, they can text a coach and get help within 60 minutes. Accountability is another reason why our members come to Silver Stars. We provide weekly check-ins for all of our members. This helps you to see results such as improved strength, balance, cardio endurance and flexibility.

Our featured program is our Fit For Life Small Group Program. This results- driven program is a group of three to six people that mimics private training, but in a group setting. The small group allows us to tailor the program to your goals, fitness level and health history, so it’s not generic such as a large “class” of ten or more people. You’ll have a set appointment to meet with your coach every week, which helps maintain consistency and see improvements in your overall fitness level.
If you prefer private training, we offer our Fit For Life Personal Training Program. You can work with one of our highly experienced fitness professionals either at our studio, Live on Zoom or we can come to you!
