Well-Paid Maids Sweeps Into New City

Aaron Seyedian founded Well-Paid Maids in the D.C. area back in 2017.

Inspired by the Fight for $15 minimum wage campaign, he wanted to get involved. For years, he had watched business lobbyists argue that a higher minimum would hurt businesses.

“I thought that running an explicitly living-wage business as a living case study could be useful to the movement,” he explained.

Enter: Well-Paid Maids. At the living-wage cleaning company, cleaners earn at least $27 an hour and get a full benefits package, including 24 paid days off per year as well as health, dental and vision insurance.

It’s safe to say Well-Paid Maids has proven paying a living wage is not bad for business. In fact, it’s pretty darn good!

In 2022, Well-Paid Maids expanded here to New York City. Then, just last week, it opened a new branch… in Chicago!

Be sure to spread the word to your Chicago friends. Tell them to use code HELLOCHICAGO for $25 off their first cleaning.

Thank you, NYC, for all your support these past two years. We couldn’t keep growing without you!

Schedule your cleaning today.

Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
