Last week, the New York City Council voted to approve the $112 billion city budget for the 2025 fiscal year.
On Thursday, West Side Rag covered projects and organizations that are set to receive funding within the Upper West Side’s District 6.
There are also local entities in the northern section of the Upper West Side, along with Morningside Heights, that will receive funding in the new budget.
The funding for these budget items were spearheaded by Councilmember Shaun Abreu, who represents the neighborhood from around West 92nd through West 125th streets.

Ballet Hispanico received 40K. They do excellent work. But they did receive $10 million in June 2021 from Mackenzie Scott, wife of Amazon owner Jeff Bezos. Could that 40K have been better spent on an arts group that did not just receive $10Mil? Just wondering…..

The Children’s Museum got a large amount. Could WSR do a feature on what happened to their planned move to 96 and CPW? I assume the money is related to that. The move was planned a while ago and I forget why it stalled.
A full update would be greatly appreciated. My kids have aged out but it was a great resource. Thanks!
Are we just giving up on Dino Park?
What about the upgrades and repair of the dock at West Harlem Piers?
