Penthouse 2 of The Astor’s brand-new penthouse collection has just come to market. With over 4,800 square feet of interior space spread across two floors, Penthouse 2 (asking $13,950,000) boasts five bedrooms, seven baths, two gas-burning fireplaces and two terraces.

The penthouse residence opens into a grand entry hall and offers a unique floorplan that features custom interiors by Pembrooke & Ives that inspire timeless elegance and functional sophistication. Features include stained white-oak herringbone floors, gracious ceiling heights, gas-burning fireplaces, as well as new trim, casework, and crown moldings inspired by The Astor’s pre-war heritage. The interiors also feature central heating and air conditioning located within custom millwork enclosures, advanced home automation and AV systems pre-installed by Lutron, and a Bosch washing machine and condensation dryer.

The chef-inspired eat-in kitchen opens into the living and dining areas that are extended by a private wraparound terrace, filling the room with natural light. The kitchen features top-of-the-line Gaggenau appliances, including a refrigerator, freezer, and two dishwashers as well as two full-height Sub-Zero wine fridges, all concealed behind beautiful matte white lacquer custom-paneled millwork. In addition, the kitchen features premier Miele appliances, including a gas cooktop, convection wall oven, and convection speed oven with microwave function. Finished with polished Calacatta marble slab countertops and backsplash, the kitchen embraces the modern classic design of The Astor.

Both primary and secondary bathrooms feature Lefroy Brooks polished nickel features and accessories. The primary radiant heated floors are composed of Calacatta Gold, Nero Gold, and Tundra Grey marble tiles, complemented by walls clad in Calacatta Gold and Nero Gold marble tiles, with accents of Haisa marble mosaics. The luxurious bath includes a  double vanity consisting of a custom cerused and grey-stained white oak millwork with a Calacatta Gold countertop and completed by a free-standing solid-surface bathtub as well as shower and water closet compartments enclosed with elegant frameless glass doors.

The exterior living space includes an outdoor kitchen and offers multiple exposures providing skyline views and glimpses of the Hudson River. Facing south on Broadway, the outdoor kitchen features a gas grill, sink, and hose bib making it the ideal spot for alfresco dining, entertaining, and relaxing.

The Astor was constructed by William Waldorf Astor in 1901, with Pembrook & Ives completing the historic building’s restoration in 2015. Its amenities include a 24-hour concierge, a professionally outfitted fitness center with state-of-the-art cardio and conditioning equipment, and a children’s playroom equipped with games and activities. Bike parking and private storage units are also available for residents on a first-come, first-served basis.

Stay tuned for additional penthouse offerings.
